Building a Structure for Strategy

By Jan Verhoeff

“Capture the market with a plan,” says one honcho, straddling the fence on marketing over the internet with his own key to making a fortune online. You listen intently, knowing that in the plan he’s telling about is the secret key that feels so illusive in your own online business. His words fall flat as he repeats the same things you already knew.

You watch intently as he omits an important step in the process, picking it up in your notes, but realizing the fall. You recognize the tidbit that is missing. You see it. The next ebook he’ll promote gives that single bit of information stuck between the pages in words that scale new heights of the skyscraper he’s developing for his own business.

Was that intentional? Did he really just skip a floor in his ride to the highest level, knowing that without that piece of information, his readers would be back to buy another ebook?

In the real world, that missing floor would stand out like a sore thumb, but here on the elevator to the top of cyber space, there’s just a missing link. The evolution of business is incomplete without this tiny bit of significant information. So, his readers will be seeking the link, another ebook, his strategy for making the next sale?

When he sends out the next email message, I notice the link, the missing pieces are in the message. A bit of free information, offered at no cost to his readers, they just have to read his emails. The capture comes by way of his daily messages sent from his home office into the spectacular world of internet marketing. He gives it away, but you have to read. He makes you realize that if you miss one of his messages, you might miss the all important information that is a link to the deep dark secret of building your own structure to the top, a strategic link to Internet Marketing.

This strategic element of marketing builds trust. He acknowledges he’s real, he forgot to include a snippet of necessary information in his lessons to achieve success, and he admits it. He gives you the information in an email, free, no charge. Just because you took the time to read what he has to say. He sends you valuable information in every message.

That’s the point when you realize that there was no intent to hurt anyone in the oversight, simply an earnest desire to meet the needs of his reader and the realization that if he misses a step, he can send a single message to include that step in his next email. His readers will get it, because they really do open and read every message he sends.

The key, the big hairy secret to building a marketing business online isn’t the missing floor of the skyscraper, but rather the relationship built within a team of people edging their way to the top of cyberspace as friends. Are you building your own internet marketing business? Or marketing your business online.

A Newbie Guide To Internet Marketing

By Steven Howarth

One of the best ways of earning money from home is through internet marketing. This is because of its apparent advantages including being your own boss, determining your earnings and where you will work from as well as having much more control as to how much and when to work.

Unfortunately, there is limited information, truth and half-truths about internet marketing. One thing that you need to acknowledge is that internet marketing despite being one of the simplest ways of making money requires quite a lot of determination, strategies and techniques. Some of the strategies you may need to incorporate will cost you some money while others will be free of charge.

The key to internet marketing is ranking highly in the search engines. This calls for search engine optimization techniques as it will determine the website traffic that you generate and consequently, your earnings from the website. This goes beyond submitting the URL to search engines then waiting for visitors to flood your website. Getting listed in the search engines but generating website traffic is another completely different case. You will acknowledge that most people do not look for something beyond the first and the second page. Some of the strategies to incorporate in your internet marketing include the ones listed below.

Pay per click advertising- This is a strategy used in directing traffic to your website in which case advertisers will pay you every time the advert is clicked. You would in this case be using such search engines like Google, yahoo or other smaller ones like BidVertiser, Miva and LookSmart. One of the most important things to consider when incorporating pay per click ads is keywords as these will help in the ranking.

Building Backlinks- On optimizing your website, it would be important that you focus on building backlinks. This is done in many ways including social bookmarking, one way linking, direct submission, writing articles blog commenting and reciprocal linking.

Article marketing- This not only helps your website get quality but also ensures that it also becomes reputable in the niche. It molds it into a brand as well as enhances the number of visitors especially through the resource box.

Building a list of emails- This ensures that your visitors are updated about the products or services you are marketing therefore ensuring their comeback. Research has shown that most visitors will not buy in the first time but once you have sent them emails for about seven times. Building a list of emails would be important in communicating with them and making them come back. While on this, it would be important that you use autoresponders so that you do not have to manually write the emails.

However, being a newcomer in internet marketing puts you at a great risk of falling prey to scammers. It calls for a lot of vigilance on your part to know the difference between genuine online marketing opportunities and scams. Note that your prime duty is driving traffic to your website generating clicks and therefore sales for the advertising company in order to get a share of the profit. Scammers would be aiming at collecting your personal information or money then disappearing or giving you nothing even after generating the sales. As much as it may be difficult to identify scammers, you could make use of the following guidelines to avoid falling prey to them.

To begin with, look into the company’s website. Does it look professional? It actually should contain detailed information on its products and services as well as its affiliate programs. It also should have contact details, FAQ page and working links. As much as that does not necessarily point to the legitimacy of the company, you would acknowledge that scammers might not put a lot of effort in producing detailed, organized and informative websites.

The main aim of internet marketing is to make money. In this case, look into the compensation plan and evaluate how realistic it is. Look at the testimonials and reviews done about the company’s compensation plan. If there is something that seems unclear about the whole thing, call up the company or email them and evaluate the response. Looking into the information provided about the service or product.

It would definitely be important that you look into the investment that you have to make for the internet marketing. The company should be able to provide a basic entry level where individuals can sell its products and services without having to pay anything. You would only be expected to pay some money if you are in multilevel marketing (MLM).

Ecommerce Hosting Solution for Your Website

By Olushola George Otenaike

Due to the peculiarity of an ecommerce site, it is important to search for the proper platform to host it in order to achieve the desired result. If you must succeed online, there is an absolute need to get the right web hosting provider for your site.

An ecommerce hosting solution must come with features like online transaction entry point, shopping cart application, secured payment setting, consumer accounts, user-friendly control panel, image gallery applications and so on. However, you must put the following tips into consideration before picking a host.

1. Budget: Your purse will determine the type of hosting service you will subscribe to. The common service types available are shared, VPS and dedicated. Dedicated hosting is the most expensive while shared and VPS are not that expensive. If you don’t have much money to spare for hosting your site, shared hosting might be the best bet for you. But if you want more control over the server without spending much, VPS hosting will be okay.

2. Disk space: It is essential to know the amount of disk space that would be allocated for your site. An ecommerce site requires a reasonable amount of disk space, hence, you must be convinced that the allocated space, based on the plan you intend to purchase will be enough for you. Even though, there are claims here and there of unlimited disk space offers, but you should confirm such claims in order to be on a safer side.

3. Bandwidth: Bandwidth is the amount of data transfer that is allowed to occur between your website and the other internet community. Web hosts allocate this according to hosting plans but for an ecommerce site, the bandwidth allocation should be enough. As a result of this, you should calculate your estimated monthly bandwidth requirement in order to choose the right hosting plan. You can do this by calculating your site’s file size and multiplying it by the number of expected monthly visitors. Take note that every visitor to your site will not visit every page, but with the result you get above, you would be able to know the estimated bandwidth requirement of your site.

4. Location: The location of a host’s server affects its performance, consequently, webmasters don’t joke with it. You must be able to investigate and confirm that a server is located in a secured and conducive environment because whatever affects the server that host your site will surely affect your site. Take your time to carry out enough research before settling down with a web hosting provider because once you are in, it might not be easy to get out.
